I received some advice a little while back that one of the best things you can do as a designer is keep an idea book. This isn't the kind of notebook that you keep in your pocket and pull out to jot down ideas. No. This is the kind of notebook that you dive into and pour your blood sweat and tears into. Come up with an idea, paint over it, glue in a few things, and throw on some finishing touches, Then, maybe it's in a good spot.
This notebook is an evolving and experimental project. It's an outlet for me to test different techniques, doodle a bit, pick up a medium I haven't touched in a while, and has no brand guidelines to follow. Each spread changes from time to time and if I'm not satisfied, all I have to do is flip the page and I have another clean slate.
